PE00-020: Was driving approximately 35mph when tire blew. Checked the Firestone wilderness tire P275/75R16 & tread had separated from rear left tire. Took vehicle to Firestone tire shop & had the tire replaced. Do not have the tire.
While driving at 60 mph tread began to separate on wilderness/ATX tire before it blewout. Firestone has been contacted. Firestone wilderness ATX 235/75/R15
Consumer was traveling about 60mph on the highway and vehicle was shaking. Rear right driver's tire was blown. There were wires, and tire was separated from the rim.
Consumer was traveling about 75mph on highway and vehicle was vibrating.also, rear right passenger side tire separated from wheel, and driver lost control, and vehicle rolled over and landed in the middle of highway.

A split notice in the tires from inside of front driver's tires on a Ford Explorer. Tires replaced by aftermarket tires, and not available for analysis. The tire tread separated and the tire was destroyed.
Consumer bought 4 Firestone ATX tires from a friend, and after maybe a year consumer started to experience a problem he thought was front alignment because vehicle was wobbling on the road, took to dealer, and dealer noticed a bulge in driver's side front tire. Dealer advised consumer that tread was seperating. Consumer then remembered hearing about problem, and felt this situation was unsafe.
While driving about 40 mph heard a noise coming from the bottom of vehicle. Then, slowed down and found out that right rear Firestone (P235 75 R15) tire tread had separated. The dot # is vdhl1py the consumer stated on the application that there was one fatality, however no other information provided.
The original Firestone rear tirestread is coming apart from the outside of the tire which may cause a tire blowout and a loss of vehicle control. Please provide further information.
The right rear tire tread came off the tire (Firestone Wilderness AT) causing the driver to loose control of the vehicle and it overturned two and a half times. The driver and two passenger crawled out of the vehicle and waited for emergency personnel. Nlm
While consumer was coming back from the airport she heard vibrating noises coming from inside of vehicle. She got out of vehicle to check the tires. Got back into vehicle, decreased speed, and noticed more trembling and vibrating noises. She proceeded to pull over to the shoulder, and noticed that tread came off passenger's tire. Also, the tire tread damaged metal part of the bumper.
While driving at about 65 on a clear day/no rain, and traveling on the inside lane, rear left tire tread peeled off, causing driver to lose control and roll over. Left rear tire never deflated. Tire was a Firestone Wilderness AT. One child came out of the vehicle.
While traveling 70mph heard loud noise, left rear wheel froze. Vehicle veered to left over 2 lanes & then right over 2 lanes. Spun around & was facing oncoming traffic. Went backwards & hit a culvert. Took off & was air borne. Landed upside down. Unlocked seat belt & crawled out. Police and emergency vehicle arrived. Informed consumer that tire tread separated & wrapped around axle. Vehicle totaled. Tires were Firestone radial axt. The consumer stated that he didn't get any kind of reimbursement for the tires and no offer of settelement from Ford Motor Company.
