The tread of the left rear tire separated causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway, the driver overcorrected to return to the road which caused the vehicle to rotate clockwise, upon the vehicle sliding the left rear tire became deflated and the wheel began to gouge into the roadway causing the vehicle to overturn several times, the driver sustained contusions and abrasions to his arms and upper torso area, the left rear occupant was ejected from the vehicle ans sustained contusions and abrasions to his head, neck, arms and legs, the other three occupants sustained fatal injuries(attorney for clients, Florida highway patrol investigation, Firestone, no other tire info given)
Consumer replaced all the Firestone Wilderness AT tires, due to cracks around the tread in Dec 2000, however in May 2001 the original tires were recalled and consumer is now seeking reimbursement, but is getting the run around from the dealer.
While driving the left rear tire tread separeated causing the driver to loose control of the vehicle and run off the roadway into a fence line and rollover three time landing upright, all four occupant were injured (Texas peace officers accident report, Bridgestone/Firestone, P235/75R15, radial ATX M/S, vdhl1pm286, left rear). The left rear tire blewout causing the driver to loose control and travel to the right shoulder, the rim on the right side of the vehicle dug into the grass and soil causing the vehicle to roll passenger side down first, the driver was killed, the three other occupants sustained non-incapacitating injuries(Texas peace officers accident report, P255/70R16, Wilderness AT M/S, W2cu1px106, left rear). Consumer stated that tires were noisy, and were beginning to make thumping noises, after inspecting tires it was determined that tires were developinh cracks between the cleats around the entire tire, and the tires were beginning to show signs of tread separation.(Firestone Wilderness AT P235/75R15 dot code vnhl.

Prior to recall, consumer experienced a tire blow out and replaced all four tires, consumer was denied reimbursement because the tire blew out before the recall.(Firestone tires)
The vehicles Firestone tires were riding extremely rough, tires were taken to the dealer where it was determined they were included in recall 00T-005, consumer replaced all four tires and submitted all paper work to the manufacturer, but has not recieved reimbursement or correspondence from the manufacturer in 10 months (Firestone). One year ago I replaced four Firestone Wilderness AT tires which were showing visible severe tread separation with new bfgoodrich (Michelin) tires. Today I noticed that two of the replacement tires were suffering from tread separation in the exact same manner as the failed firestones. Consumer states while driving she noticed vehicle was starting to make a strange vibration whenever she would reach speeds over 65 mph, consumer took vehicle in to local repair shop and was advised by technician that one of the Firestone Wilderness AT tires(P235/75R15) had experienced tread separation, all four of the tires were replaced, consumer's tires were not part of recall but she was assured 3 months prior that tires were fine and they passed inspection.
Prior to recall notification 00T005, consumer noticed some fine cracking in the sidewall of both front tires, at the recommendation of the local tire dealer, consumer replaced both front tires, later the three remaining tires were replaced free of charge by a local Firestone dealer, consumer is now requestng reimbursement for the previously purchased tires.
Tread separation inside edge of tire, crescent shape about size of 1/2 frisbee, down to steel belt, on opposite side of tire additional tread separation but not detached. (tiresize: P225/70R15)( dot number: Tire size: P225/70R15 )
00 020/tread separation: Left rear tire experienced a tread separation while traveling at highway speed of 65 mph, with driver only in a 1997, Ford, Explorer; unaware of original or aftermarket equipment; tire size P235/75R15, dot# W2hl1py077. Firestone notified, and informed consumer that tires were not cover under recall.
Two back tires and passenger's front tire around the rim area are cracked. Consumer has a 1997, Ford, Explorer with original tires, size P235/75R15. Approximate mileage 42,000.
PE00 020. Consumer was traveling 15mph on highway and while approaching a stop sign, right front tire tread separated from the vehicle. He was able to pull over to shoulders. Firestone, Wilderness AT, P25570R16, fdot W2cu1px. There were no injuries.
Consumer replaced all 4 Firestone Wilderness AT ( P235/75R15 1055) tires, consumer was advised by dealer that tires were not apart of recall, even though tires were showing abnormalities of tread separation, consumer believes that tires should have been part of recall.
Consumer went in to have tires rotated and balanced, consumer complained that tires were noisy and starting to make a thumping noise mechanic inspected tires, and found tires to be cracking between the cleats on all 4 tires which means tread separation was in its beginning stages, consumer has replaced all 4 Firestone Wilderness AT (P235/75R15) although tires not a part of recall.
Since ownership tires wear out easily, front tires have been replaced twice, tires have been balanced and rotated and also loose air, while driving one of the tires experienced tire separation, all 4 (Firestone Wilderness AT P235/75R15) tires have been replaced, consumer felt that Firestone should have been responsibile for tires, but only the spare tire qualified for the recall.
