in the midst of another issue where i was required to remove my fuel tank, i noticed my brake lines were rusted incredibly. not having the resources to replace or repair brake systems i loaded the truck on my uncles flatbed and drove it a mile and a half down the street to the local mechanics. they informed me that had i driven it down to the shop, a mere mile and a half involving only 3 stops, they surely would have popped leaving me without a brake system. they were so brittle you could snap the lines with just your index finger and thumb. i had mine replaced with ones that resisted rust caused by water, fuel and salt exposure to prevent this from happening again. but just a reminder to drivers everywhere, should your brakes go out, shift into a low gear and use engine compression to slow down, in cases were you must slow down fast, side swipe a curb and saccrifice your tires or rim finish. theyre worth alot less than your life.
