I've tried buying two plates, cutting out the middle of one and welding it to the other to increase the life of the plate. but that only lets it last a year or so. the engine speed ramps up when I take it out of park which makes it even worse on the plate. I had to block off the idle air control valve just to keep the rpms reasonable going into gear. I am just too old to keep replacing this thing. And, I have two of these cars, twice the troubles. I really like Fords but, the engineer who designed the hole spacing on this plate should be forced to fix each and every one of these , each time they tear up. preferably in hell. thank you for this opportunity to complain.
