The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate and lost motive power. While driving uphill, the vehicle failed to accelerate. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the cam phaser and the differential pinion seal needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a vibration in the front differential. The contact stated that the vehicle felt like it was being driven in 4-WD however, the vehicle was in 2-WD. There were no warning lights illuminated. On another occasion, while driving approximately 30-35 MPH, there was a vibration and shimmy in the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer in July 2021 where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure was due to the front differential. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
