Approximately 2 days after the problem happened to me (May 2018), my wife was driving our 2015 Expedition XLT 4x4 with our 2 young daughters in the back seat when the same problem occurred. She was entering the Interstate, approx. 45mph and accelerating, when the vehicle engine stalled. She was able to steer the vehicle onto the shoulder before it came to a rolling stop. She was able to shift into Park, restart the vehicle, and drive again normally.

Had this occurred during rush hour on that same interstate, lives might have been lost. We've been told the problem is with the Throttle Body, and will cost nearly $700 to replace. We had purchased the Extended Coverage Plan when we bought the vehicle, but since this is a powertrain issue, of course it is not covered. Having done some online research over the past 24 hours, I've learned Throttle Body complaints are probably the most common among 2015 Expedition owners, wondering why Ford hasn't issued a recall. I've always considered myself a "Ford guy", have owned many Fords over the years, this might be enough to cause me and my family to look elsewhere in the future.
