Left hand blend door actuator failure. This is the second time this same part (DL3Z 19E616) has failed within 3 years and less than 50,000 miles. Part is cheap but excessive labor. They have to pull most of dash. About 8 hrs. I do not want to reward Ford for a poorly designed part. Internet is full of videos talking about how common this problem is in Expeditions and F150s. They show fixes but none are easy. I will have to get it repaired before the weather changes. Luckily it is stuck on AC.

Part should be recalled but since it isn't a safety issue, it probably won't be. The gears were too small. They have a new and improved version now with bigger gears but per internet it is failing for a different reason.

First time it was not a big deal because it was covered under warranty. But now the same part (DL3Z 19E616) goes out again within 3 years and less than 50,000 miles later. This time at 135,000 miles no warranty available to cover it. Part is cheap but very high labor cost, close to $1,000!
