This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Bubbling of paint located centrally on tailgate in several locations around metal edge and around license plate, is apparently not covered under warranties or purchased $3500 extended warranty coverage either...nice Ford!
Paint is blistering on the hood and rear tailgate, which are made of aluminum. Ford won't cover this under their corrosion warranty unless there is perforation thru to the sheet metal. By the time this occurs the warranty is up and the paint is falling off the vehicle.
The paint on the rear hatch is bubbling, Ford states they do not have a issue. The same thing happened on my 2004 Expedition. This should not happen to a 2 year old vehicle. After researching online the problem seems very widespread. They will not give me a answer as to why this could happen on such a new vehicle, only send me a form letter response.
