Took the vehicle to Ford.... they said all of the systems are working as designed. hmmmm, that's interesting then why was my vehicle that was in park with the keys removed (this is important because you cannot remove the keys without the vehicle being in park) sitting in my neighbors yard, across the street? Thank goodness there were no kids playing in the area or cars in the road!
Ford agreed to look at the vehicle again... this time they opened the transmission and found nothing wrong.... they did say that they tightened the shifter cable. The vehicle while in park has rolled 4 times (3 times before my wife exited the vehicle and she was able to put on the breaks). My recommendation - ensure that your emergency break is on if you have one of these vehicles. This is not the first report of this happening.... but nobody seems to understand why it is happening.
