I have a 2008 Ford Expedition with aluminum corrosion issues. I was at a body shop yesterday and he noticed that the hood latch had a lot of corrosion around the bolts and said it could eventually let go and the hood could fly open. Why would this be happening to such a new vehicle? Ford says this is not covered.
Power rear hatch failure - after opening rear door, it would immediately come back down with the motor. If someone was standing at the rear of the vehicle, it would hit them, and stop, but would not go back up. This kept repeating for several weeks until the door no longer opened via the power opener. When taken to the dealer, all they found was that the door had "lost it's programming" and they reprogrammed it, but the problem has starting occurring again.
