About a year ago I noticed some paint bubbling at the very front edge of my hood. I thought how can this be as there were no rock dings or any other kind of damage to the hood and as time has gone on there is another area next to it that is bubbling also. When you open up the hood you can see quite a bit of the paint just peeling away from the underside of the hood almost like an onion skin peeling from an onion. I just couldn't believe that there could be this much corrosion on an aluminum body panel until I searched online about it and found out that Ford apparently knew that there was iron contamination in both the hood and rear hatch body panels and didn't or won't do anything about it and just kept selling these vehicles. My wife's 2008 Expedition also has the exact same problem so this didn't end with the 2007 model as most may think. I'm not sure what if anything can be done with Ford as they seem to not want to accept responsibility for this defect but I can honestly say that this most likely be my last Ford and I sure wish that I had known about it beforehand.
