Why can't ford fix this sh*t?

A lovely vehicle, very comfortable and overall nice design. To have the whole look spoiled by the massive bubbles of paint caused by surface rust under the original paint applied at the factory!!! I could understand if the vehicle had dents or scratches. But to not have a scratch, not even ding on the doors from parking too close and to have a large arrea of rust forming right in the middle of the tailgate.

Ford manufactured this vehicle with faulty tailgate and hood. They contained a corrosive element which causes the paint to flake, peel, and come off. Can't believe they are getting away with such a problem that is prevalent in so many of these vehicles (Expeditions).

So the paint on the tailgate is bubbling and peeling off around the area where you hit the button for the glass. Also peeling and bubbling along the front edge of the hood. Can't believe we haven't seen a recall or class action go through yet.

There are 5 spots on my back door the size of golf balls. One got so bad I scraped off the paint lightly sanded and sprayed some Krylon black on to get through the winter. Hell that looks better than the bubbles. Yes it is not rust because it is an Aluminum door. Looks like bad paint prep to me.

Spoke to my local dealer first. Referred me to Ford Customer Service. Received two estimates from local Ford body shops. Both estimates were over $1000. Body shop managers would not guarantee the repair, as they were both only fixing the "visually affected areas". Both dealerships talked with the Ford Customer Service Rep. (FCSR) replied, not our problem, see if the dealers will fix under the "goodwill" program. Both dealers declined to fix the problems under the "goodwill" program. Called FCSR back, asked to speak to a supervisory, and was denied. This process took about 3 months with no satisfaction. Aluminum corrosion was not covered under warranty. Now, March 2014, corrosion bubbles have started popping the paint off the lift gate in several areas, including the ones originally identified, as well as new ones.

I have contacted Ford and they refused to fix the problem. I believe when you pay as much for a vehicle as an EXPEDITION the manufacturer should be responsible for defects such as this. If nothing else it should be a RECALL.

The next time an American Car manufacturer is on the bridge of Bankruptcy they can CRY all they want. LET THEM EAT CAKE

My 2007 Ford Expedition lift gate paint is bubbling. My truck lives in the garage and the rest of the body is in excellent condition. Looks like there should be a recall on this. I have found many others complaining about the same problem.

this is my first ford expedition and wont be my last the only gripe i have is ford has some bad paint problems but its only on certain colors ours is a 2007 and the paint is falling off the tail gate on the outside and inside dealer told me theres nothing they will do but they did say it looks like its been wrecked before which is not true we knew the past owner she is an elderly lady and babyed this truck but its like anything else you ask ford to look at when comes to their mistakes its always your fault whats funny the problems we have with this truck could not have been caused by us or the past owner besides we didn't build the son of a bitch but ford always had a cowardly way of handling complaints but like i said i will buy another one i love the way it rides and handles and the seats are very comfortable .
