Unfortunately it was a rainy day, and the front passenger window wouldn’t go up. I was luckily able to get it fixed that day.

The glass was broken from a previous auto theft attempt. We thought maybe there was some glass stuck down there so we asked Safelite to take a gander. Per him, its the regulator saying something about being able to hear it [motor]. He showed me the white piece that was laying at the bottom. I cannot even lift the window back up. He kindly placed some plastic on it. I am now calling around and may need to hit a junk yard to harvest the replacement piece.

The vehicle is paid for and I don't need to spend any more time at the drive thru, so I may not fix this right away. After mine broke, I could not get the window up! One of the cables was rusted and frayed, so I had to cut the cable to get the window up. I took the regulator apart, rewound the cable and unplugged the motor. If I find $320 that I don't need I'm gonna get it fixed.

The original window regulator was replaced by an authorized ford dealer under the original manufacturer's warranty (36K miles) at the est. 35K mileage range. A few weeks later my window wasn't rolling up properly being the rear portion of the window was going up higher than the front portion of the window as if the front track was hanging up on something. I took my vehicle back to the ford dealer, which responded that they can't get the error to happen as we both agreed it was an isolated problem. At approx. 75K mileage and 1 year of the replacement my window fell. I took the panel off to discover that the U channel brackets that the windows are siliconed into are no longer bonded to the window. I took the vehicle back to the dealer with the panel off to ask them what procedures are involved with replacing the window regulator. I was assured removing the window from the brackets IS NOT the way to replace the regulator and the tech just unbolted the bracket from the track. Now at 82K mileage and 1 1/2 years later from the original replacement the regulator is completely broke with the steel cables shredded and the plastic pulley gear attached to the motor having no grooves because the steel cable destroyed it.

I called the authorized dealership parts department where the gentlemen told me a new window regulator would cost $180 and they have had many problems with this part. Now I'm left searching the internet for a LH window regulator to save me some money vs. paying $180 just for the part NOT INCLUDING ANY LABOR COST FOR INSTALLATION. This will certainly effect my decision of purchasing another FORD product, which by the way this was my first Ford vehicle.
