When the vehicle is under heavy load (like accelerating uphill at highway speeds), it feels like the bottom drops out and there's no power for a second and the check engine light flashes for about 10 seconds. So far we've been able to take it easy after it happens and get off the highway and take side roads the rest of the way. Mechanic read cylinder 4 misfire. My husband replaced the cylinders/spark plugs 2 yrs and less than 30,000 miles ago. We had issues with cylinder 2 a few months ago, but were able to fix by replacing the spark plug (again...). The mechanic looked over everything pretty extensively and feels that there's probably something wrong internally and it would mean a new engine to the tune of 7-8 grand! Ha! We went out and bought a new van after hearing that... My husband plans to fiddle with it a little more before we sell. I'll update with a solution if he's able to fix it somehow.
