I brought my Expedition in for the oil change and was told it was bone dry. It burned through 7 quarts in less than 3000 miles. It never showed any signs of burning. I took it to my mechanic and he did something with the PCV valve and told me to drive it a 1000 miles and keep checking on oil level. As of 16 February it has remained full.
Update from Mar 4, 2022: It turns out it was the PCV valve. I have driven it for a 1000 miles as my mechanic recommended and it didn’t even burn any oil.
