The worst thing is I was doing 75 with the cruise control on, came upon a car so I tapped the brakes to come off cruise. Simultaneously the gas pedal went to the floor and I almost caused wreck and went off a two high bridge. My 300lb body was standing on the brakes and the vehicle would not stop or slow down, I through it into neutral and before I could hit the key, it popped into reverse and I instantly pulled it back into neutral and hit the key. It did not immediately die so I reached down and tried to pull the gas pedal up. I could not, but the engine then quit. I was lucky and had a shoulder by that time to pull on too. I waited a couple of minutes, restarted the engine and very slowly and carefully drove to my destination, and then ultimately home. I discovered on then internet this is a serious problem with fords like mine and several states have law suites against Ford, who from what I am reading is accused of covering up the issue, even to the point of destroying records. I don't know what to do about this problem now, or even if I should drive my Expedition anymore.
