This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I own a 2004 Ford Expedition XLT, the vehicle has had the locking mechanism in the seat-belts fail 2 different times on two different seats. The first was the front passenger in the first quarter of 2006. The second time is this month September of 2006 and it is the right passenger on the second row seat. Both times I have taken the vehicle back to the car dealership to have the mechanism replaced. There are 8 seat belts in total since 2 have already failed I am concerned about their effectiveness.
