Well I have returned again. I reported the transmission failure at 42k, now the rear end has had to be rebuilt because of excesive noise. Turns out the gears in the rear axle were worn and out of alignment resulting in excessive wear. Several TB have been found on this issue, to the point that Ford even has a kit just for this rebuild. I had another shop do the repair and not the dealer. They did a great job on rebuilding it. My previous 97 expedtion had normal wear and tear. This 2004 has had drivetrain and transmission issues. These are things you would expect to see at high mileage on a much older car. Has Fords quality declined?

I have a Howl at low speeds when accelerating it goes away at high speed cruise? Had a Ford mechanic pull the diff apart and found no problems.
All wheel bearings are ok..
Any other bearings that could be causing this??
