With all the problems that the 2003 Expedition has had, this vehicle should not be allowed on the road. It is a safety issue in itself. Ford should be ashamed of themselves for putting out this bad of a sport utility vehicle. But of course they don't care as long as they are making their money, that is all they care about. Never mind the consumer that is stuck with all your stupid ideas for this vehicle. I think they should be held accountable and have to replace anything that there is more than fifty complaints on. Why should the people have to foot the bill for the worst Expedition to have ever rolled of the assembly floors.
There are so many things that I would like to complain about. But lets start with the most recent and probably one of the more expensive things that will have to be fixed. The transmission for the 2003 Expedition. Well as most people know Ford is known for most of their vehicles having transmission problems. In the beginning of January I noticed that my truck felt like it did not have as much power when I would step on the gas pedal. So this is just the beginning. All through the month of January I can tell that the transmission is starting to slip slightly. So I check the tranny fluid. The fluid level is fine but it smells a little burned. So I continue to drive it until February 7, 2014, when I take it in to have an oil change. While I am there they tell me that they checked all the fluids. So after getting the oil changed my truck starts to get worse.
Now it is slipping and jerking when I accelerate. So I have my mechanic replace and turn the rotors for my brakes. During which my mechanic does a once over and checks everything that was suppose to have been checked less than 30 days ago. He finds that the transmission fluid is three quarts low. So either I lost a whole lot of fluid, they never really checked it, or my transmission just burned the hell out of the oil. It does smell like burnt tranny fluid when I am trying to make it up some of the freeway or back road hills in my county.
How does a transmission lose that much oil in less that 30 days? Cause it does not leak under my truck. These transmissions just suck!! I now can barely drive my truck cause it has no band power to move this heavy beast. So here I am a single mom with two boys and I am disabled, on a fixed income and now have a 2003 Expedition that I paid 8000 dollars for one year ago, I don't have another 3,000 dollars to put into this vehicle.
So I would just like to say thank you to Ford for not even giving me the chance to bend over and grab my ankles. Sorry for the expression..most people are to afraid to say the things that I do say. Because it needs to be said. Company's like Ford take advantage of the little people everyday. Thanks for letting me say my peace. I have more complaints to post of course. So look for them to see how many things are wrong with this vehicle. Sandoll
