After a lane-splitting motorcyclist knocked out my right mirror (never stopped or looked back), I was able to replace it OK, but it kept going to weird places and I had to manually reset it each time I got in the car. I finally realized it had "lost its memory" and needed to be reprogrammed for my key and seat settings. Works fine since.
