On July 10,2000 my family and I were traveling to the airport when our tire separated we were traveling East bound on I-80 approximately 3 miles from the gwb at the time we thought it very strange the way the tire had separated we felt very fortunate that we were able to pull off the roadway and no one was injured. Needless to say we missed our flight and had to take a different one. We were out of the country for a week and since the tire was under warranty we got another Firestone Wilderness AT for 1/2 price little did we know that the safety of those very exact tires was in question, until we heard it on the news recently.
