The contact owns a 2000 Ford Expedition. While operating the passenger side seat belts on the second and third row seating, the contact noticed the seat belt retention systems were not functioning. The seat belts would not tighten and hold in place. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer but they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 102,000.
: the contact stated the buckles for the second seat middle position failed to operate. The buckle male and female ends to not hold once buckled. This safety seat belt is the recommended location for children. The contact's child who is under one years old has to be located next to the vehicle's door instead. The contact express concern regarding the safety of the child in that location. The dealer has been alerted however there will be a cost to fix the vehicle.
