Purchased truck on 02/15/2008, and the brakes went on the truck on 02/21/2008, which almost cause me to go headon with a semi-truck. Told dealer about brakes going out but didn't care about it. Told him about me taking the truck to the transmission shop and the indicated that it was the motor that have the 5 cylinder missing in the engine and the engine had a lot of defects with the engine. Took the reports to the dealer and he said he would take care of it but he indicated to me that he would not fix the problem with the truck. He told me to fix it myself and pay him the car note.
2000 Expedition horn failed. When the horn failed to operate an accident occurred and the air bags failed to deploy. On a previous occasion, the consumer experienced problems with the cruise control and the ABS. The consumer stated the cruise control has been replaced 4 times and the horn was replaced 3 times. The consumer believed the continued failures of the ABS and horn were due to an electrical short in the wiring.
While driving at 40 mph the consumer attempted to apply the brakes suddenly. The brake sensor light came on and the brakes became mushy. The dealer states the anti lock brakes system malfunctioned. Please provide additional information. The consumer stated that the brakes were repaired before. Emergency brake no longer works.
The anti lock brakes engaged without cause. The dealership indicated the problem was caused by the rear end, and replaced it, however the problem recurred.

Both rear tires had tread separation and a blow out occurred on one of them.... the vehicle had been to the dealers and had brake repairs at approx. 34,000 miles. From initial lease of vehicle, there were complaints of rough ride and apparent tire problems. The dealer never made any offer to correct the problem but balanced and rotated the tires. Upon taking this problem to them on 09/04/2001 they disclaimed any knowledge or assistance in adjusting the obvious malfunction of the general tire which blew out... upon taking the vehicle to a tire store and had them check the tires for any other damage they discovered that another tire had a separation of the tread and had a knot on the tire which was just beginning to ware. All tires had proper air pressure. I have kept these tires for further investigation and complaint follow-up. (tiresize: 275X60R17)
I am concerned with the faulty mechanics on this vehicle. I have had this problem happen twice now since owning this vehicle. On Jan 27-2001, I was coming off the 5 fwy and lost all power of brakes. I had to downshift to 1st gear to get my vehicle to stop, almost causing a serious accident at beach blvd. 2nd time, I was traveling on the 91 fwy at approx 70 mph when my vehicle started swerving and became very bumpy. I had to veer off the fwy in a state of shock and dangerous matter. When I stopped, my truck dropped in the front right area. I got out to look and saw that the wheel had come off and was leaning into the inside of my tire well. I am now afraid of driving this vehicle and reporting it to you so you can look into it. Please follow up with me as to your actions and as to what actions I need to do to take care of this matter. Third strike usually ends up in ***death*** I do not want to be part of statistics or want to hear of any others getting hurt because of this malfunction. Thank you dean aughenbaugh.
While driving and applying brakes vehicle continued to accelerate. To gain control engine was completely shut down. Vehicle was taken to dealer, dealer will add a component to the PCV system.
