SUV pulls to right when you step on the gas, will change lanes at high speed to the right. Will pull hard to the right when you towing and change lanes. When you are not stepping on the gas it goes straight. I've been to 2 dealers and one tire shop. Ford will not fix it. It is under ext warranty.
While driving in wet conditions at 50 mph vehicle started to pull to right. Consumer tried to put on brakes, and nothing happened, ABS didn't kick in. Vehicle in a 4 wheel drive which didn't kick in hit ditch and rolled over.
When traveling between 40 & 50 mph, there is a vibration throughout the vehicle. This vibration is distinct in the floorboards. The first time it was taken in for the problem, the mechanic stated it was a tire pressure problem & the pressure was adjusted. The second time, only a couple weeks later was for the same problem. This time the mechanic stated that he could not varify concern. However, when vehicle was picked up, a female service writer went for a ride with me and she noticed the problem. On the 3rd incident, a mechanic who was doing a state safety inspection noticed the vibration and strongley advised me to have the vehicle repaired. I have been in touch with Ford Motor Co. And they stated that another dealership would call to make an appt.. this has never taken place. I am concerned for the safety of my children and wife as well as myself.( dot number: Vncu tire size: P255/70R16 )
This vehicle has been back to dealership seven times since purchase for warranty service problems and recalls. In may of 99 there was a recall on the wheel lugs: Nuts. In September 99, November 99, and March 2000 it was in for windshield wiper problems; moulding replacement; twice for front end alignments (steers to right); and trailer hitch recall. The constant smelll of burning oil has just been diagnosed on latest visit to dealership 5/15/00 as needing a new cylinder head. Vehicle has been in on three other occasions for this same problem, but they could never find it. Now parts are on order---will take 3-4 days to obtain parts before they can repair it. Regarding the "windnoise" dealer says its "normal" yet service bulletins have been issued on this problem (996780 & tsb 99-6-5). In November of 1999, the left "tie rod" broke off while we were in phoenix. A phoenix dealership did a same day repair for us.
