The contact owns a 2003 Ford Excursion. The contact stated that three seat belts were fractured, two in the middle row and one in the rear. The contact had become stuck in the driver side rear seat belt and had to cut the seat in order to exit. The other two seat belts are inoperable. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer and the dealer advised that each seat belt needed to be replaced. The contact did not replace the seat belts. Updated 10/12/11 updated 10/24/11

The contact owns a 2003 Ford Excursion. The vehicle was parked when the contact noticed the seat belt system was nonfunctional. The defective seat belts consist of; rear driver seat belt, center row driver seat belt and middle seat belt. A passenger in the vehicle was wearing the seat belt and unexpectedly the seat belt webbing became extremely tight and tangled around the neck area which nearly choked the occupant. The contact had concern of the potential safety hazard. The failure mileage was 92,000. The current mileage was 101,000. Updated 05/11/10.

Vehicle has failed to provide the lower latch system attachment points. Ford Motor Company describes the part as an accessory that has to be custom ordered before the vehicle is manufactured, therefore they will not install in our 2003 vehicle, even though the law for latch was in place in September 2002.
