Problem is intermittent brake loss and at first thought I was imagining it. On occasion after startup and putting it in reverse, when I step on brake the vehicle keeps rolling for a couple of seconds no matter how hard I press the brake pedal. If something or someone were behind me I would have hit them. After it happened again last week I asked my wife if she ever experienced it and she said she has. I made an appointment at dealership. They were not surprised and were aware of problems with the vacuum pump that activates the brakes. (gee thanks for the heads up fellas). It is outside of 3 yr warranty so they will give me a price to replace. I have reported defect to Transport Canada last week. Should be safety recall on these vehicles! The F150s apparently have the same problem. On top of rough shifting, noisy front end and peeling paint I am just a little pissed. But there are an awful lot of Escapes out there that are ticking time bombs with defective brake parts.
