Power steering went out with my wife driving, and baby in the car. Luckily there was no accident. Hasn't functioned since, the cluster just says "Power steering assist fault". Contacted Ford about recalls and such, since there appears to have been a recall on the vehicle for just this problem (recall# 14S05). I got some garbage about how the recall was finished or something, when obviously the problem persists. If someone knows what legal mumbo jumbo I have to say to get them to take care of it, please let me know.

This Ford Escape is the worst vehicle I have ever owned. I have had nothing but problems since buying it with 18000 miles to the 120000 it has now. I thought Ford had their crap together? Last Ford I will ever buy for certain. If they know they have a problem and a failed part why not take care of the customers who own them. Is there an easy fix to this?
