Bought this vehicle used so I expect some work to be done, that's okay, but..... Ford did a recall and the vehicle was reprogramed in 2014. Turns out this was not a real fix but a stall to postpone the unavoidable electric motor failure so that it happens when the vehicle is out of warranty. Changing a $35.00 upgrade to a $2000.00 repair. Nice pay off FORD! Problem is the dealer can't do anything about it. I'm taking the job to my favourite local mechanic, Steve @ Wellington Garage in Nanaimo BC. Even if I don't save a lot, at least I'm supporting a local business. No more FORD repairs for me! I know there will be more, it is used after all. By the way Mazda Tribute (Escape twin) covered this repair.
