I believe this is a result of having something else fixed at the Ford garage ! I've had really good luck until now with my Ford Hybrid 2008. I only had to have it into the Ford dealer 3 times . 1. Broken windshield covered under my insurance; a truck threw a stone on the thruway. 2. A warranty item. 3. 5/16/14 Was horrible to take a wrench came on in the car on the Monday of that week but I had a lot of driving to do so I called and they couldn't get me in til Friday. The wrench didn't go off all week & we dropped the hybrid off Thursday pm and they finally called at 4:55pm Friday to say it was ready which made me nervous. The bill for a valve that was stuck on was $129.98 for a new one (replacement) and the mechanics hourly rate total was $190.00. I still can't believe they would actually charge someone that much money ( $320.98 ) for a new valve and who knows how many real minutes they spent on my Escape ??? I'm still upset over it, I don't trust car dealers or mechanics that work for them !!!

Well, the following Monday my Air-conditioning in my hybrid stopped working and has always worked just fine; maybe its just a coincidence but somehow I doubt it. I am calling tomorrow to see if there's a recall on that even though I know there isn't and then I'll go to one of your recommended Ford mechanics (Thanks) !

I drive my car very, very little, and live in a cool area near the water, so air conditioning is not something I use very often. My car had just passed the three year warranty mark with just about 9,000 total miles when I attempted to use the a/c and got no cold air. As I had used the a/c for less than 1000 miles of my total driving, I thought this was very premature failure. I called several dealers and was assured that that since my purchase was over 36 months(barely) it was not covered by warranty. I chose at that time to wait on repairs, unsure as to what the costs would be. When I finally went to get it serviced on May 29, 2012 (with my mileage up to a whopping 10,754) I was told it would cost $770+ tax. I chose to pay the$100 diagnostic fee and walk away. I was told the condenser leaks and needs to be replaced. This is totally unacceptable for the amount of usage the part has seen. I intend to contact Ford at their headquarters and express my displeasure about two things: the unacceptable parts life, and the obscene repair costs.
