Bought 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid in Jan. 2016 with 88,000 miles. Car in super great condition very clean (No Rust) on undercarriage or body. Purchased car for $6100.00 from small used car dealer in Southern NJ.
Brought car home took to Ford dealer for safety check they went over it with a fine toothed comb. Put approx. $1,000 in repairs needed Front Brakes & Rotors and some other minor issues Rt Front Suspension tightened. On May 7th we went to visit my daughter in Knoxville the car was bought for her while she attends college. While starting the car the ABS Brake warning light illuminated then turned off. I told my daughter if it did it again to take it to the dealer and get it checked.
Well it happened again so the dealer in Maryville TN said whole braking system needed replaced at a cost of $4,500! According to component test C1313 & C1222 car needs ABS Controller & HCU! Anyway my daughter was slated to go to the Raleigh NC area for work during college break, I instructed her to go to another dealer and get a second opinion. Dealer in Carey NC said car needed complete brake system replaced at a cost of $4,800.00!!!
I refuse to believe this car was misused to the point this braking problem is really a issue caused by neglect, there has to be more to this! No one willing to go above and beyond to fix this without doing a entire system change! Shame on FORD for not calling out a RECALL it appears many others are experiencing the same exact problem.
Can someone please reach out and help me in the Raliegh NC or Perry OH area? I spent my last dime on that car to replace a Honda Civic with 239,000 miles on it. Which btw had no issues, I can not afford another car or this outrageous repair. doctordx1@yahoo.com my e-mail. I am very stressed and don't want my daughter to get into a accident!
