So, after getting a rebuilt engine in my car, two weeks later the transmission goes out. The dealer is quoting 9K, but my mechanic is willing to do it for 3800 but admits he has no experience with hybrids. Says it is dangerous to have to discharge the electricity first or something.
I really don't want to spend this much on a transmission but does anyone have any other suggestions? What else could I do with a car where the engine is so new? The rest of the car is in pretty good shape as well.
