I bought this SUV for my 19 year old son for his 1st car a week ago. We took it on a nice long drive; I was driving at 70 mph with cruise control set while on I-80 west in Sacramento. Without any warning the engine cut off and the message system stated "stop safely now". It was pure luck we didn't create a multi-car accident as I had multiple near misses with the cars and trucks veering out on my way. Had my son been driving, it may have been much different. AAA towing to the Ford dealer (40 miles away), diagnosis was cooling system for the engine/drivetrain and main battery cooling system both need replace/repairs.
I've never had such a dangerous situation like this before. Ford should take responsibility and get this serious issue resolved!
