- Summary
- Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0442, P0455, P0456, and/or P0457. This may be due to damage to the carbon canister which may have occurred during vehicle transportation. This condition may not occur for a few hundred miles/km or equivalent key cycles. Inspect the left side underbody air deflector for damage. If damage or witness marks are present, remove the left side air deflector and inspect the carbon canister for damage. As a reminder, dealers are responsible for inspecting new vehicles received by the dealership. When accepting delivery from the carrier, dealers must notify the carrier in writing of any concealed damage within 2 business days (certified mail with return receipt recommended). Refer to Section 2 of the Warranty and Policy Manual.
