The hinge of my driver-??s side door came off. I did file a complaint with Ford but a friend told me to file one here also. It is currently in the body shop getting fixed. It is going to cost over $3,000
right side driver door hinge is making noise when opened. It is beginning to not unlock when i am entering car. i have to go to passenger side to unlock. I am unable to operate window (up/down) fully. I have taken this to dealer and have been told by their body department that this is an issue that they have seen in on other escapes. Have been advised to not put window down. They are looking into this and will call me but have heard nothing since - 3 weeks. I am afraid that this door will break loose or that I will be unable to get into my car and be stranded somewhere. I am unable to get this fixed and obviously can't trade it as it is a known issue and dangerous. PLEASE RECALL THIS AND HAVE FORD OFFER TEMPORARY VEHICLES UNTIL THIS IS FIXED. i AM A [XXX] LADY WITH NO SAFE TRANSPORTATION! 3 welding spots on check arm of drivers side door have failed. Door is difficult to open and close; makes popping noises. Window reluctantly goes down and up.
Called my dealership for my door problem, says theres been issues with the door check, but im a month and half out of warranty and Ford does not want to take responsibilty for this problem that so many people have with this... so I will have to go pay for this on my own and get a rental car.. I feel as though this should be a recall if so many people are having the same issue!!!
My driver side door all of a sudden started making popping sounds when opening and closing. Got to the point where I could not close the door. I had to disarm the mechanism that was popping. I did a little research and I was able to see the rivets that hold the arm had pulled through the door panel thus causing the arm not to work properly. I am just over the 36,000 mile warranty so will not fall under the warranty. Because I had to disarm this mechanism to be able to shut my door I have no protection to protect the door from over opening and causing more damage. I also see there have been several other complaints of Escape owners having the same issue.
Driver side door has started to make a popping sound when opening and closing. It appears this is coming from inside the door at the door limiter. I am fearing this part could potentially fully break and become unfunctional causing door to pop open and cause potential injury to myself or other drivers on the roadways. Research has shown this is a consistent problem with this year and model vehicle.
Driver side door makes an unusual sound when opened all the way. Until it got to a point that it makes a popping sound when opened/or closed. The door check bracket is loose. Called the dealership and they said they-??d have to change the entire door?? That would cost thousands of dollars for something that-??s out my control. This has to be investigated and recalled for free. I-??m very concerned that this would eventually cause my car door to fall off while driving. God forbid!
My ford has been in no accidents or anything. One day the door started creaking. Making a CHUNK noise. After a few days of use there was a loud crack and you can see the weld spots have fallen out and the door no longer sits flush. It's the door, it won't close properly that seems like a safety risk. The door is literally falling off. Ford inspected and told me the price to fix would be 4500 bucks. No warnings.
The driver side door hinge has separated/ broken away from the door frame. The damage has also caused internal issues with the working mechanisms inside the door such as the window not going down fully.
heard a small popping noise when i opened the door. the next day i heard a louder pop and the driver door no longer would hold open. the door check bracket separated from the door.
Driver door door check tore loose bent window track.cant put windows down all the way, sometimes door does not want to close.ford wants 12-1500 to fix there flaw
My drivers door arm receptor has broken free of its spot weld inside the door, causing severe safety issues. [see Car and Driver article BY ALESSANDRA KAESTNER PUBLISHED: JUL 14, 2023] Same issue. This happened to me today 09/20/2023. * I cannot fully open drivers window because of this defect. Major safety issue if my vehicle goes into water. * I cannot open the door from outside, if locked. Major issue to persons with disabilities who can't climb across the console or back seats. I pulled a leg muscle today doing so. My back hurts also. Ford spot-welded the door arm receptor on a piece of metal that is too thin to provide support. This is enough for a recall. When will you do this" What is taking so long" Already tired of not being able to use drive thru because my window will not lower. A major inconvenience.
Driver's side door is broken. Started with popping sounds, then just snapped. Door can open and close but automatic window cannot be used. I have a video of the sound the door makes currently but was unable to upload it.
