I bought a 2020 Ford Escape. The AC compressor failed in the spring of '23 with around 39k miles. I was given an estimate of $1k after Ford said the warranty had expired, but at the time I couldn't afford it. This week I had no choice but to spend the money to repair this lemon (12 recalls and 1 failed AC compressor in 4 years). Took it back to the shop, the quote was about the same and so my mechanic went to order parts. Surprise, Surprise, Ford stopped selling parts to 3rd party parts dealers (at least in my area). The bill was increased an additional $600 due to Ford pricing. Contacted Ford and was told essentially that I am a fool, sucker, mark and that I could pay them to fix the car after I paid them to diagnosis the car and left it in their shop for a week or so. Needless to say, that can't happen. So in short, do not buy a 2020 Ford Escape and I would go further and say not to buy a Ford. The company to big to fail knows it will not be allowed to fail, and the quality shows.
