Bought car new. Only put 27,000 miles on it in 5years. I got a note about end of my warranty. I expected to have the car for a few more years, so I bought the extended warranty on 12/17/2023. On 1/2/2024, I heard the tapping and acceleration problem, took it in for service. On 1/3/24, I was called and told I needed a total engine replacement for @ $10000. The engine is a long block not the short block. I had all the service done over the 5 yrs. Never told the Escape had a known engine failure. The Ford extended warranty agent called me and the will not cover the repair. Also, the dealer does not have loaner cars for the 3 1/2 to 4 weeks the repair will take.
They will however rent me one at $55 a day plus tax. Great, another $1800! Ford knows about this and will do nothing about it. What a great company! How do I sign up for a class action?
