2017 Ford Escape, just bought with a 2.0 EcoBoost. Sudden acceleration that has happened multiple times. Very dangerous. Took to dealer; no idea what problem is/was. Said all systems working properly but issue continues. Put a claim in with Ford Motor Company with no resolution. Seems to be while driving at low speed and the car will suddenly take off. This can be very dangerous for myself, along with pedestrians and other motorists. Older model Escapes have had similar issues involving the throttle but not sure EcoBoost was available on earlier models. I have filed this claim with my insurance company to avoid liability should an incident occur. Ford Motor Company has had very little response in helping resolve the issue. Will file complaint with NHTSA as well. I have seen other people list this same problem on blogs but not sure how far these folks have taken their complaints. Again, sudden acceleration at any speed is dangerous and should not be happening in any vehicle, never mind a nearly brand new car. This problem needs to be investigated and taken seriously before someone gets hurt. Need a resolution on this issue; dealer is useless. Ford Motor Company needs to be held to the hightest standard and resolve whatever problem this may be.
