As I was attempting to pull into a parking spot, I took my foot off the gas to step on the brake, the car lurched forward and I lost control. I hit a concrete pole on the passenger side which broke the mirror and damaged the passenger door so that it would not open. The whole side was broken and dented. The car continued forward and hit a brick building, which damaged the hood and left front of the car.
The airbags did not deploy. I was injured by the seat belt, causing 2 broken ribs and terrible bruising wherever the belt impacted my body. My husband, on the passenger side, received a small cut on hid kee, which did not need attention.
We drove the car home and the insurance adjuster came to inspect the car a couple days later. He did not open the hood because the thought it would not be able to be closed again, and my husband had to drive to a Dr. appointment. After the appoint, we took the car to a bodyshop. A few days later the owner of the shop called to inform us the car had to be totaled because of extensive damage under the car, and under the hood.
