Ford extended the warranty on the car engine to seven years and 135 000 km. Unfortunately, we had purchased the car in the fall of 2016 and thus the warranty didn't apply, even though we were quite a bit under with the 'kilometrage'. We have been quoted a price of $13000 (CAD) to fix the car. There would be a new warranty on the engine. We are getting the car fixed, but we are very angry about this. Ford installed a defective engine, which they acknowledged in a letter we never received, but we have to pay for their mistake. The car should have been recalled, and a new engine installed, just as Toyota is doing with their Tundras. We will be letting everyone know about what the problem we have had, and we do note Ford's profits are way down, as is Ford stock.
