I just had this windshield replaced a little over 3 weeks ago and it's already cracked again! Something is wrong with this design. A windshield shouldn't crack that easily.

I bought this car used, only had it a month when the windshield cracked. And then it cracked again less than 4 weeks later, which I'll be logging in as a separate event.

Small rock on freeway chipped my windshield. Before I got off the freeway, it already started spidering out. Too big for chip repair. I have now replaced my windshield twice for a small rock, turning into a long crack in my windshield. Why does this window chip and crack so easily ??? Frustrated:(

windshield chips easily

It snowed and was very cold (around 30+F) in the last few days. I parked my car in my reserved carport as usual. The next morning of Feb 11, 2017 I noticed that there was a crack in the upper left hand corner of my windshield. I put in an insurance claim and the technician inspected and told me that the cracked was caused by a rock chip! I looked at the dent and it was just like a thumb pin near the edge of the windshield followed by about 7 inches crack. I told the technician that there was no crack the night before and the next morning there was one. I was not convinced that the crack was caused by rock chip as I did not hear any "bang" on the windshield in the last couple of days while I was driving. Anyway, I have to replace the windshield. It took me 4 days with various phone calls initiated by me before I got my car into the auto glass workshop to have the windshield replaced.

My complaint is: is the windshield by Ford of such good quality that can withstand a small rock chip hitting the windshield without causing a crack. I had more than 6 cars (not Ford) in the past 25 years and never have to replace a windshield even though we heard bangs on the windshield while we were driving on the freeways or any other roads.

Went to bed one night, woke up next Morning went to work (walk). Got home to go to dr appt. I saw a 8-10 inch crack in the windshield; started on at bottom of windshield, just to the right of midline. OK, call get it replaced, waiting for that, another night goes by and now the crack is about 2 feet long. Again it happens at night sitting in the driveway. So now I'm worried that the windshield won't last until SAFELITE gets here. It does, SAFELITE guys get all of their gear and what happens ? WRONG windshield. Told me there are 6 different windshields for this ONE type of vehicle. So they order the "correct" one. Two days later the same thing, wrong windshield brought.

So not only do I have I cracked windshield it appears Ford has made it extremely hard to get the correct one to put back in. WTF!

the windsheild chips and cracked with each small stone hit

I picked up this car in Ohio to drive back to Michigan , the windshield chipped in less than 200 miles with small stone hit that would have bounced of any other car I have owned. Then in the next few months with freeway driving I picked up two more chips along with a nasty crack yesterday. I have never had a car that the windshield chipped so easily on, I believe there is a defect in the glass.
