My 2016 Ford Escape just decided to not shift into gear and then a transmission light check came on, no other warnings that there was an issue with this car, a week later in the shop we find out I need a new transmission.

This car has transmission issue as far as I have researched this week. I would not recommend buying a 2016 Ford escape to any one as Ford new there were issue with this car and should have recalled them to get them fixed. WOW I'm not happy about having to replace a transmission and having to continue to make the car payments. I like driving a ford but this car is not a good car so if your wanting to get yourself into a used car I would not recommend this type of car at all. The dealers aren't even upfront with you as I have learned a great lesson this week to check out all of the complaints on transmissions as well as engines before buying my next car.

Tried to put car into reverse this AM. Moved gear shift into reverse, gently pushed on gas peddle, car did not move. Pushed harder, no motion. Tried drive, not motion. After a few minutes, the transmission woke up and I could go into revers and drive. Seems like I had to go to Drive then Revers to get Reverse to work

Update from May 25, 2017: Took car back to Phil Long Chapel Hills, Colorado Springs. I gave them a list of 15 incidents. They were not able to recreate till they put it on a lift, nose down. It would not go into gear. Ford corporate claimed this was normal hydraulic behavior. A new 2017 did the same thing. I traded the 2016 escape in on a 2017 Edge. Much better car. What a pain, took 10 weeks to get this fixed, and 5 cars. Phil Long was ok.
