The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic because the engine coolant indicator was displayed as low. The mechanic filled the coolant reservoir and referred the contact to the dealer. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000.

I have a 2016 Ford Escape 4WD. It is consistently stalling when driving. I've been told that the transmission needs to be replaced. I paid $22,000 for the car and it is only a few years old. The internet has several complaints from others reporting the same or similar problem with their 2016 Ford Escape. It is extremely dangerous to drive the car as it stalls in intersections with on coming traffic. Ford company is stating if it's not under warranty and their is no recall for this problem they will not do anything accept an engine or transmission replacement at my cost which is upwards of $6000. I can't do anything with the car and it's too expensive to do what they are saying is the repair. They know this problem is common and a huge safety issue. I guess they have weighed the cost of the recall and decided people should die first before they will be forced to do the right thing by acknowledging and fixing the problem.

I have noticed that after applying normal pressure to the brakes, the ABS indicator and the hill assist notice appear. Also another warning light comes on the dash board. Also, the speedometer doesn't work anymore. When this happens the engine will not turn off. This has happened 10 times in the past 2 weeks. Eventually the engine will torn itself off after approximately 20-30 minutes. I noticed that the ABS light comes on after stopping at a light. It may come on at other times while I am driving the vehicle, but I notice the light when stopped at a traffic light or pulling into a parking space.

I'm not sure but I feel like there might be an issue with my Ford Escape transmission. I bought the car in not even 2 years ago and now I'm being told that I either need new transmission or to have mine rebuilt and this doesn't seem right'.how is that a car that is barley 3 years old, and bought brand new needs a whole new transmission. I am concern because I have a child and I am currently pregnant and my car is slipping in out of gear while driving. I am on fix income this why I bought what I thought was a reliable new car, I don't have the money to correct Ford's mistake. I hope this mater can be looked into any help would be greatly appreciated. I do not feel like some should have to die before this issue is addressed and corrected.

We frequently drive from midway, ut to salt lake city, ut on I-80 where the highway goes through parley's canyon and experiences 6-7% grades. We were driving home in the far left lane of I-80 when, without warning, the car lost speed from 70 mph to 40 mph. We tried to accelerate to no avail. We moved as quickly as possible to the far right lane and exited the highway. The message that displayed listed engine overheating as the issue but the temperature gauge showed normal temperature. We contacted our Ford dealer about what happened and learned that there is a sensor on this car the detects possible engine overheating and automatically reduces your speed. We wrote to Ford Motor Company customer service to make them aware of what we believe is potentially a dangerous situation. While this may be the design point of the sensor, it is certainly dangerous for drivers, especially at highway speeds, to have the car loose speed without warning. We were very fortunate to be able to exit the interstate without incident. Ford wrote back to us and informed us that this sensor is to prevent damage to the engine and to allow us time to get to a service facility. While we appreciate the vast array of technology advancements now available that provide the public smarter and safer vehicles, taking this kind of control away from a driver at highway speeds without any warning based on our experience is quite unsafe. Obviously the sensor is not sensing the driver's situation or location when the car suddenly looses speed. Ford has further suggested that we share our experience on Ford social where we can post questions for Ford's engineers and design team. Is the NHTSA aware of this issue" if so, what is their opinion about this technology? are we overreacting"

After the mechanic replaced the spark plugs and coil in cylinder 2 last week, they noted coolant in the cylinder. Not even a week later, the engine is leaking coolant into the cylinder. This situation has been known to cause damage to the cylinder and cause an oil leak which can cause fire. The mechanics say they can do nothing else to fix it and Ford refuses to fix the issue. I know this has been a known issue in earlier models of Ford Escapes and it looks like it is the same issue.

My car had a problem idling last week. Got it to the mechanic. Mechanic tried to change the spark plug due to a problem in the cylinder but spark plug was frozen. Found coolant underneath. Mechanic had worked as a mechanic at a Ford dealership, said this problem was prevalent with Ford. I contacted Ford. The Ford representative said I had no extended warranty and that there was no recall on the product so there was nothing they could do. The only long-term fix is an entirely new engine because coolant is leaking from the engine. The car is only three years old.

I pulled out into an intersection to turn left going between 5-10 mph when my Ford Escape stalled. The electronics remained on, the check engine light turned on and it displayed a message that read "transmission not in park". the car was still in drive. I was able to safely roll the car to the side of the road. I was able to successfully restart the car first try.

I just bought this 2016 Ford Escape in October, 2018. It made it until Mar. 2019. No warning light, nothing. It has 78,000 miles and the transmission blew. They are telling me at the jensen Ford dealership that it will cost $6,508 due to all that is wrong with the transmission. When it gets hot it leaks transmission fluid badly. It took only 2 days and no warning and it blew. Now I can't pay for it, Ford will not pay for it and I believe they should.

I bought my '16 Ford Escape over a year ago. I was driving the vehicle about 2 weeks ago just fine when turning in an intersection the engine completely died. I had to pull over and restart the engine. It was driving without issues until this past week when I was driving the vehicle and while in motion the engine completely dies. Again I turn the ignition off and back on. It is a major safety hazzard as the car complete goes into a cost while in the middle of driving it.

This complaint is a follow-up to one filed earlier (11181564). The problem is now solved this wire issue is not the one in the tsb and not currently in a recall. This vehicle at approximately 43,000 miles produced the same symptoms as the tsb 13-12-12. Motor suddenly stalling, backfire sometimes, rough running, loss of power, etc. The wire harness had worn through the wrap and eventually one of the wires in the bundle atop the motor made intermittent contact with a part of the motor. This caused the PCM to throw numerous codes and disable critical safety systems. Random, erratic and unpredictable. Wire bundle aligned with the fuel rail begins at the driver side of the motor. At the point where it begins up come to the motor there is a post (aluminum, top, front, drivers' side of motor). This wire bundle was not sufficiently protected from chaffing. The remainder of the wire is well secured and insulated but this point is literally and accident waiting to happen. This was very difficult to find as the problem as it was so intermittent. Not covered under 5/60 warranty and my dealer charged me $318. In total I've spent over $600 the getting this figured out and resolved. This last breakdown placed my family in great danger as there was no safe place to get off the road (70 mph interstate with little shoulder and merging state highway). This was the third time having to tow this vehicle for this. I am certain others will experience this failure and I hope no one gets hurt. In my case it also disabled the restraint systems and airbags when it occurred.

2016 Escape with no history or problems prior to events here. During a trip from home approximately 50 miles away vehicle operated just fine. After a 5 min stop, I re-entered and started the vehicle. After about 2 miles and while on the highway traveling 70 mph vehicle suddenly shuttered and acceleration aggravated this situation. Power loss was present, and vehicle stalled out. I coasted to shoulder. Attempted numerous restarts that would seem to catch but soon stall out. Eventually got the vehicle to run enough to limp off the highway. Very low power. Parked for 20 min and restarted with no apparent issue. Engine light was present since first stall. Drove about 1 mile and symptoms returned. Low power and stalled out. Vehicle restarted and I again limped off highway. Eventually got to exit and off into a parking lot. Numerous stalls and never any real power. Waited for a tow from there and vehicle restarted with no issues when driving it onto the tow trailer. Fuel pressures were normal, and codes were P06A7, P0106 and P0236 were present and permanent which was also a new development. Permanent codes have been elusive. A previous recall on 2013-2014 Escapes fits this issue exactly. After numerous hours of research, I am convinced this is the same issue involved in the previous Ford tsb 13-12-12 and the previous tsb 13-7-5. I was in great danger when this vehicle stalled on the highway without warning. Rush hour traffic on 70 plus mph road with almost no shoulder. Because of this and the disabling of the airbags when this failure occurs along with the seat belt actuators, I think it's reasonable to assume this is a safety issue. I'm confident this issue can be replicated.

Prior Ford recall does not include my model and year but experiencing same issues as noted in recall #16S46 and dealer will not cover expenses. The turbocharger oil supply lines may not be brazed properly, resulting in an engine oil leak. Oil supply lines to the turbocharger in the engine compartment may leak engine oil. This could allow oil to leak onto hot engine components, creating a fire hazard. Our recent oil change, not at Ford, indicated that the mechanic identified an oil leak that is coming from the turbo line.

I was driving on a residential road on 11-24-18, on my way home when I hear a vibrating noise. I think it is my phone, but all of a sudden the car stalls. Thankfully I had no cars behind me so I power it down and then tune it back on and it gives a little issue turning back on but does. I make it home. It works fine the next few days. On 11-27-18 after only driving locally in between I take my Ford on the highway to go to the airport 30 mins away and all is fine until the ride back home on the highway. I hear the vibrating noise again as if I was going over rumble strips on 95. The car goes on a little longer and then shuts down again. Power remains on but the car stalls. I am taking it in today. I hope to get this resolved as fast as possible. I bought a new car for a reason. Reliability and now I am just annoyed that this is happening with only 32K miles on the 2016 Escape.
