CarComplaints.com Notes: The top problem trend for the 2014 Escape is transmission failure at around 70k miles.
This is relatively low mileage for an expensive transmission failure ($4,500 average to fix), but unless the trend becomes more established, we are only awarding the 2014 Escape our "Beware of the Clunker" badge for now.

So I brought it to the dealership because of a loud noise in the front end and an engine light on. The dealership said it was a wheel bearing going out. I got it changed. The mouse was still there and they gave me a load of crap about one noise masking another noise but it was the same noise. Then they started saying I TV waxed the transmission. At this time I really lost confidence in the service team so I decided to find a mechanic that I thought had a good reputation and was a transmission specialist.
He said it was the other bearing in the that was bad and they had changed the wrong one. He said normally both should be changed at the same time. So how did they jump from a bearing to transmission issues? So I had the second bearing in the front changed for another $350.00. The dealership refunded my money on the first one because they failed to satisfy the noise issue.
