CarComplaints.com Notes: The top problem trend for the 2014 Escape is transmission failure at around 70k miles.
This is relatively low mileage for an expensive transmission failure ($4,500 average to fix), but unless the trend becomes more established, we are only awarding the 2014 Escape our "Beware of the Clunker" badge for now.

replace engine with factory "new" replacement (1 reports)
Car was just outside of Ford factory warranty of 60K, we had ~62K. Ford dealership wanted 8K to replace with new factory motor. We argued with Ford Corporate Warranty and got them to pay for 1/2 (4K).
They gave us 36K/3-year warranty on repair, and so far so good, but it'll be sold soon.
