CarComplaints.com Notes: The top problem trend for the 2014 Escape is transmission failure at around 70k miles.

This is relatively low mileage for an expensive transmission failure ($4,500 average to fix), but unless the trend becomes more established, we are only awarding the 2014 Escape our "Beware of the Clunker" badge for now.

Went to start my car 9/4/22 had to use key to open door, but the battery was completely dead. Used jump starter to get it running and found out online that it was possible Sync system would not shut down when it was off. Seems as though sync does not power down when you shut the vehicle off and keeps searching for a signal. Tried to find out if I could manually shut sync off but found no information. My vehicle is 2014 Ford Escape SE and have come to find out through online searches that this model and year seems to have significant problems with many features that import safety.

Ford keeps saying it's the battery, but they put new ones in and problem is still there. Something is drawing power and they won't look for it.
