The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to autonation Ford corpus christi located at 6250 S. padre island dr, corpus christi, tx 78412, where a transmission reprogrammable code was detected. The technician stated that the code triggered three other codes that caused the failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 143,000.
The vehicle acted like it went out of gear, the engine revved, and the car would not move. Tow required for repair. (our 2018, which has the same transmission, was in the shop having the transmission repaired at the time of the 2014 failure!!! there is definitely a problem with this transmission and a recall is in order!)
My wife was traveling at approximately 45 mph when the vehicle began to slow suddenly. The transmission began to "whine" and would not shift. The vehicle was taken to the local Ford dealer for diagnosis. The dealer claimed that the transmission need to be replaced but gave no reason for the failure. The mileage was 84,074. I then had the vehicle towed to a transmission specialist. A thorough inspection revealed that the converter had failed and blew fluid back through the rest of the transmission. A full transmission replacement was still required. The transmission specialist stated that the transmission was too small for the vehicle.
Without any warnings my 2014 Ford Escape transmission went out, it only had 83,000 miles on it. The local dealer ship confirmed it was the transmission, but there was no recall on mine, please make this right and fix this major issue. I've been a Ford owner for years.

The transmission shift link bushing wore out my vehicle has less than 15,000 miles Ford dealership in Ford Motor Company tell me that there is no fix for this there is no recall. When I search the national transportation site I am complaining on right now, I see no recall about it yet it's the same exact recall on other 2014 Ford Escapes the minute I put my VIN number and it says that I'm good to go and says 0 un repaired recalls but the same issue is happening why aren't they fixing it for free why is there no recall. I stopped put the vehicle in park, so it was stopped went in the store came out and shifter was stuck. Because of the issue it could have had extreme cost of towing to the dealer ( Ford). They alerted me no bushing replacement, no recall and only they replace the whole shifter cable 4.5 hour job $61 part! how many other seniors were treated this way over a $2 part and ten to 15 minute install! I used to be proud to be an american! forgive me if I went long!
My girlfriend was driving at about 40 mph and noticed a whining noise that corresponded with the acceleration of the vehicle. When she came to the next stop light and the light turned green the Escape would not accelerate, but the whining was very loud and would only move about 3-4 miles per hour. She pulled over, shut off the engine. Waited and started again. The Escape drove for a few minutes and then she felt it slip out of gear and then the engine would just rev. It slipped back into gear and it started to accelerate as normal but with the constant whining sound. She had to stop again. She called a mechanic who came and listened and attempted to drive it and he said the transmission was shot which was obvious at that time. There were no service messages on the dash, no lights came on the dash to indicate low fluid levels. We have serviced our vehicle regularly following the owners manual recommendations. The transmission information only says to check fluid levels at every oil change and change the transmission fluid at 150,000 miles according to the driving conditions. It has 101,900 miles and we still owe on our loan. We purchased it from a Ford dealer in Feb. 2017. With all of the complaints and issues with the transmissions failing at random Ford needs to issue a recall and fix these lemons!!

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the vehicle overheated and caused the engine to crack. The technician also stated that the transmission need to be repaired. The vehicle was taken to gene messer Ford (6000 West 19th, lubbock, tx 79407, (806) 788-2222) where the technician confirmed that the engine block was cracked and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired however, the same dealer repurchased the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
Shifting is not right it stopped in middle ofthe road and lost of power while in motion and wont move or shift gear this is after the recall as performed dealer was on interested on sell new car and car left deal in worst condition then it arrive in was charged for diagnosis and nothing was quoted almost cased a accident in a busy street and had my two year old daughter with me car was purchased a yr ago and seats are stuck and no reason or solution was offered other than to buy a new carcar was in motion and just from out the blue sounded like someone had hit car just"loud noise and car stared to move again and once again begam to force as if?it was on park wjen it was indrive wjen in"sport it wod show change very scary nowarming just stopped
1st issue is the car stalls randomly and warning states, 'service engine soon, ' with no codes thrown. It has happened while moving and at a stop light. It will start back up after sitting for 5 minutes. Happens every couple months. The other issue is the transmission shutters between first and second gear and also between 2nd and 3rd gear. Dealership cannot find any issues for either issue.
It won't go into park it will roll on a hill without E brake. Would drive for a while and then stop going randomly put me at risk several times because there is also no check engine light that comes on.
As I was driving the car started making a loud whine and then violently shaking as it threw the car out of gear and then back into gear. Then rolled for a bit and came to a complete stop.
The transmission has gone bad and there are a lot of people complaining of this online something should be done about the transmission going bad so early the car just started not changing gears then it would drive kept doing this til I got home
As I was driving, the car started to make a whining noise, and then a few minutes later the transmission started to slip and the car started to rev up and loose power until the car couldn't move anymore and only rolled.
I was driving on the hwy with my 1 year old in the back when I my car started to slow on its own. I pressed harder on the gas to keep up with traffic and the car surged forward almost rear ending the one in front of me. It did this once more before I got off the highway. When I got off the highway I had to make a left hand turn and halfway through the intersection my car could barely accelerate. There were no notifications or warnings that popped up. As I tried to make it up the hill on the next road my car stalled and then a notification popped up saying transmission fault service now. I had to get it towed and Ford says it is the torque converter that caused damage to my transmission. I asked them about a service bulletin related to the part but they said they take no responsibility for the part failing. I have read hundreds of complaints related to this part on the internet. My make and model car is listed as a clunker online due to this issue. My daughter and I could have been killed if my car slowed down any more going though the intersection because we barely made it before traffic came through. Ford should make this right before someone is killed. Almost all of the complaints I read said the cars that failed due to this part when they were traveling at a high rate of speed. When I talked to the service people at the Ford dealership in alpharetta they said they know there is an issue with this part but until Ford does a recall they can't help me. Please take action before a family is killed due to Ford negligence.

The contact was able to restart the vehicle however, the failure persisted. Chris auffenberg Lincoln located at 5840 mo-100, Washington, mo 63090, was contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to a different independent mechanic and repaired. The contact stated that the failure recurred after the vehicle was repaired. The contact was then informed that the transmission control module software needed to be updated. The contact stated that after the software update was performed, the coolant warning light illuminated. The contact also became aware of a coolant leak. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where the mechanic replaced the transmission cooler assembly however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 93,000.
My 2014 Ford Escape broke down the first time before christmas 2019 at 100,048 miles. The warning light was stating the vehicle was overheating. Fortunately, I was in my driveway when this happened as my vehicle went into limp mode. I assumed this was related to the recall for the temperature sensor than I had replaced prior. I was told there was nothing wrong with it and drove it for 3 more days. I had driven it about ten miles from home the morning it broke down again. The car gave no warning signals or lights. I was in a 65mph zone on the interstate and the vehicle had power to the engine but no acceleration. The RPM's would rev to 4000 but not accelerate. I quickly was down to less than 10mph trying to make it up a small incline. I managed to get to the shoulder before I was rear ended. I had the vehicle towed and I was told this was a fuel pressure sensor. I then paid $350 to have this replaced. I picked up my vehicle only to drive it less than a mile from the dealership for it to break down once again. I was then told my transmission had completely failed and it would need to be totally replaced for $5,000. This is a complete safety issue due to the fact it happens at high speeds, no warning lights, and not having enough acceleration to barely make it to the side of the road.
On January 10, 2020 while vehicle was being driven at approximately 30 mph on public road with slight decline in road at that point, the SUV spontaneously disengaged from gear. When accelerator pedal was pressed, the engine would rev at high rate of speed but vehicle acted as though in neutral. The driver coasted to side of road, shut off engine for a couple of minutes, re-started, put into gear, at which time the SUV would lurch forward about 15 feet and then disengage again. Proceeded down the road this way until SUV could not advance at all, now at uphill. It was towed to closest repair garage where diagnosis was complete transmission failure. Prior to this incident, the vehicle had exhibited no signs whatsoever of transmission problems, no difficulties shifting into gears, no hesitation of automatic shifting between gears. It has been properly maintained. Mileage at time of event was approximately 79465 miles.
On February 2, 2020 I was driving home and my car suddenly stalled and released as I hit the accelerator & then it wouldn't speed up at all, which is when I realized my transmission went out for the second time in 3 years. I am very meticulous with my vehicles and this never should've happened the first time or even a second time. I reached out to Ford about it, but they took no responsibility. The first time my transmission went out was at about 79K miles. There's absolutely no way to conveniently check the transmission oil without having to take it into a shop.
Car kept stalling in the middle of the road and then completely stalled out after going 40mph. No indication of a transmission error. Changed transmission fluid and still doesn't want to drive. Sometimes the acceleration on the vehicle is terrible and the ac gives out and I need to constantly turn it off and turn it back on to work. Having to tow it to Ford because it's not drivable and spend all this money on a car I'm still paying for, getting rid of it and not buying another Ford ever again.
