CarComplaints.com Notes: The top problem trend for the 2014 Escape is transmission failure at around 70k miles.
This is relatively low mileage for an expensive transmission failure ($4,500 average to fix), but unless the trend becomes more established, we are only awarding the 2014 Escape our "Beware of the Clunker" badge for now.
i have had more problems out of this 2014 ford escape with less than 20k miles on it than i had the entire time i owned my 2008 ranger with 263k miles on it. the brakes are just the most recent issue...last night on my way home I was stopped at a stop sign and felt like the it was really hard to hold the brake down so I let off a little and when I tried to push it back down it wouldn't go. it also sounds like the emergency brake is stuck when I back out of my driveway....like something is dragging and there is nothing there. I would not purchase a ford from this dealer again and unfortunately since it is a certified used vehicle I have no recourse through the lemon law.
