CarComplaints.com Notes: The top problem trend for the 2014 Escape is transmission failure at around 70k miles.

This is relatively low mileage for an expensive transmission failure ($4,500 average to fix), but unless the trend becomes more established, we are only awarding the 2014 Escape our "Beware of the Clunker" badge for now.

PURCHASED THE CAR IN FEB. 2014, LET THE CAR SIT IN GARAGE IN JUNE FOR 9 DAYS WHILE ON VACATION. BATTERY WAS DEAD. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED BATTERY AT 4 MONTHS OLD. I THEN HEARD A BUZZING SOUND FROM THE CAR WHILE WORKING IN THE GARAGE. NOTICED THE SPEEDOMETER RUNNING FROM "0" AND BOTTOMING OUT . THIS OCCURS ONCE A MINUTE FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS WHILE THE CAR IS OFF AND NO KEYS IN IGNITION. I HAVE HAD THE CAR BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP TWICE SINCE THEN AND THEY TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCING THIS ?
