CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012 Ford Escape has an acceptable complaint history so far, with leaking rear window problems showing up as the main concern so far. NHTSA complaint data shows an early pattern of problems with stalling while driving.
Another concern is the 2012 Escape rolled onto its roof during an NHTSA side impact test so it only received a marginal side impact rating ... not good.

I just entered on highway and was just speeding up from 80km to 100km/hr when suddenely the glass of rear right door exploded. My 4 year old son had the glass pieces fallen on him but luckily did not injure. Initially it was hard to determine what happesed and what was the explosion, seemed to me a tire explosion. On highway it could be really dangerous for any less experieced driver to make further mistakes. I want to report it because it can be very dangerous in canada if you are driving on highway in a weather -20C to -40C with kids and this happens. I was 5 minutes away from home so I feel very lucky. Ford should recall their faulty glasses.
