Clunking When Turning
2012 Ford Escape
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012 Ford Escape has an acceptable complaint history so far, with leaking rear window problems showing up as the main concern so far. NHTSA complaint data shows an early pattern of problems with stalling while driving.
Another concern is the 2012 Escape rolled onto its roof during an NHTSA side impact test so it only received a marginal side impact rating ... not good.

At 6,000 miles of my new 2012 Escape make this clunk noise when I would slow down and make a turn. Royal Oak Ford turned my rotors. I got it back the noise was there again, (7,000 miles) so they replaced my drive shaft. Noise was still there so they replaced my drive shaft again because they said it was faulty (8,000 miles). Then it went away. Can back and they replaced my steering rack assembly (24,000 miles) because they said they "only other thing it could be is the drive shaft and that has been replaced twice". The noise returned and they replaced the sway bar bushes (29,000 miles) and said "this is the only possible thing". Currently, it is "getting fixed" again, although I am not sure what they will fix as I have been told "this is the only thing that could be wrong with it twice". Royal Oak Ford, thanks for standing behind the Lemon you sold me. Your lack less effort to help me with the very first brand new car I have ever purchased as well as the very first Ford shows that you do not care about your product. I purchased this $28,000 vehicle to become the reliable family car and this vehicle has been anything but reliable. The only thing that you did to correct this was extend my warranty. Well, I am sorry but that is the least you can do as this car as been serviced more times than a car twice its age and miles.
